John “Milton” Hankins of Marks, 45, retired factory worker for Panola Mills and retired investigator for Trusty Law Firm, died Friday, October 6, 2000, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo of heart failure.
Services were at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, at Second Concord M. B. Church near Batesville. Cooley’s Mortuary Inc. of Batesville had charge.
He was a member and deacon at Second Concord M. B. Church.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Hankins of Batesville; one daughter, MaShunda Hankins of Batesville; two sons, Billy Joe Hankins and Quinton Hankins, both of Batesville; his mother, Nell Hankins; eight sisters, Barbara Curtis and Velma Redd, both of Chicago, Marsha Fleming of St. Louis, MO, Dianna Hankins and Kathy Nash, both of Memphis, TN, Velma Hankins of Pope, Augusta Stokes of Gary, IN and Patricia Brown of Batesville; two brothers, Bily Joe Hankins of Jackson and Anthony Hankins of St. Louis, MO; and four grandchildren.

Hentz, Daisy Ella Keeler
Daisey Ella Keeler Hentz, 86, died Friday, December 23, 2005, at the Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, TN.
Services were Wednesday, December 28, at 11:00 a.m. at Silent Grove M. B. Church in Marks with the Rev. Michael E. Jossell, Sr. officiating.
Born in Phillip, to the late Beauena Gray Keeler and Rev. Burt John Williams Keeler on October 7, 1919, she was a licensed beautician.
She accepted Christ in 1929 and joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Webb and laer joined New Mt. Zion M. B. Church of Lambert and remained a member until her death. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, TN. She married Fred Hentz, Sr. in 1946 and to this union 14 children were born. Three children preceded her in death–Danny Roosevelt, Burtella and another son, also two brothers, Arffie and Alexander Keeler.
As a licensed beautician she worked in private homes and at Gerber’s Department Store in Memphis. She also worked on the farm with her husband until retirement.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Fred Hentz, Sr.; six daughters, Nicey Polk and Vaszola Weeks of Columbus, OH, Joyce Brown of Jackson, Teresser (Ervin) Bass of Canton, Shirley Vasquez of San Leandro, CA, Pambula (Alvis) Pryor of Lambert; five sons, Fred Hentz, Jr., Ulysses (Sharon) Hentz and Willie Hentz, all of Marks, Harry (Carol) Hentz of Columbus, OH, and Patrick (Jeanette) Hentz of Batesville; 31 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
